COURSE OVERVIEW

Using a crown down approach for the planning and execution of implant supported restorations is commonplace in today’s world of implant dentistry. A digital workflow makes this process seamless and efficient. This course will review a digital workflow in planning and restoring dental implants allowing for predictable, ideal implant supported restorations.

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize why a crown down approach is necessary for ideal implant supported restorations and review ideal implant position
  • Identify the benefits of custom abutments and screw - retention
  • Recognize angled screw access and why its use is critical in obtaining ideal anterior screw - retained restorations

Dr. Bill Scruggs is a prosthodontist in Raleigh, NC. Prior to private practice, Dr. Scruggs completed his DDS training at the UNC School of Dentistry in 2010. He then went on the obtain his AEGD at the VA hospital in Fayetteville North Carolina where his love for advanced restorative and prosthodontic treatment was born. Following a year in general practice, Dr. Scruggs completed his Masters in Prosthodontics at the UNC School of Dentistry in the Graduate Prosthodontics Program. In addition to traditional prosthodontic training, Dr. Scruggs’ training at UNC focused heavily on implant placement as well as restoration in single and full arch cases. Today, Dr. Scruggs practices at NC Prosthodontic Specialists with his father and fellow Prosthodontist, Dr. Paul Scruggs; as well as Prosthodontists Dr. Tony Molina and Dr. Anthony Gragg. NC Prosthodontic specialists is equipped with an in-house laboratory with three certified Dental Laboratory technicians. Dr. Scruggs also teaches in a clinical setting with the graduate Prosthodontic residents at UNC as well as lectures to the dental students regarding guided implant surgery and other implant related topics. Dr. Scruggs lives in Raleigh with his wife, Lindsay, 5 year old daughter Sydney and 2 year old son Baker. In his free time, Dr. Scruggs enjoys playing Golf and cheering on the Tar Heels.
