COURSE OVERVIEW
Providing the highest standard of care begins with a solid foundation in clinical assessment and accurate coding. This webinar will revisit the fundamentals of periodontal evaluation and treatment planning through the lens of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines. Participants will explore the criteria that differentiate health, gingivitis, and various stages of periodontal disease, and how to properly apply these classifications in everyday practice. We will also discuss how to code accurately and consistently based on the clinical services delivered, ensuring both compliance and optimal patient outcomes.
By going “back to the basics,” this session will empower dental professionals to strengthen their diagnostic confidence, elevate their patient communication, and provide care that is rooted in evidence-based standards. Whether you are new to clinical practice or a seasoned provider, this webinar will sharpen your ability to assess, diagnose, and code with clarity and precision.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify diagnostic criteria that distinguish health, gingivitis, and periodontal disease.
- Analyze patient assessments in alignment with AAP and ADA guidelines.
- Apply appropriate CDT codes based on the specific service provided.
- Compare treatment approaches for different stages of periodontal health and disease.
