Managing Dental Fear and Anxiety: Training your Team to Identify/Reduce Patient Anxiety and Increase Patient Treatment Acceptance

 

In this dynamic and interactive course, you will appreciate the prevalence of significant fear and anxiety among your dental patients, learn ways to help identify those patients, and walk away with concrete steps you can implement to make the patient more comfortable and open to receiving dental care. These tools will also reduce the stress level of the dental team and the dentist as you become better equipped to help these patients, thereby improving the overall office environment, increasing case acceptance, improving dental care, and increasing production.

Catherine Calder Fettig, MSN, RN, is an advanced practice nurse who specializes in behavioral health care. Catherine has extensive experience providing in-patient mental health services and was on a leadership team that opened a 120-bed behavioral hospital and a dedicated psychiatric emergency services department. 

As a Nursing Education and Behavioral Health Specialist, Catherine is a content expert and organizational leader and provides consultation and training to multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals. Catherine is passionate about the importance of integrating behavioral health concepts and care into every practice setting. 

Catherine believes that training dental teams to identify patients with fear and anxiety and providing tools to make patients more comfortable when seeking care will lead to better outcomes, reduced team stress, and increased practice production.
