COURSE OVERVIEW
Don't endure unnecessary discomfort! In the field of dentistry, especially dental hygiene, we often sacrifice proper practice techniques and ergonomics to save time. By becoming more aware of these limitations, we can implement necessary changes to enhance our overall well-being without compromising the quality of our dental hygiene therapy. Join me as I share my personal experience with injury and how I successfully reformed my dental hygiene practice, ensuring that I can continue working for many more years. Let's remember that taking care of our own health is just as important as caring for our patients.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the prevalence and impact of musculoskeletal disorders in dental professionals, including common conditions such as neck pain, back pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Identify the risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders in dental professionals, such as poor posture, repetitive movements, and awkward positions.
- Incorporate strategies for preventing musculoskeletal disorders during dental hygiene appointments, including ergonomic principles, practice sequencing, and proper use of equipment and tools.
- Apply the knowledge gained from the webinar to develop personalized strategies for preventing and managing musculoskeletal disorders in your own work environment.
